EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY - Director of Public Works - Thursday, May 25, 2017

The Township of Hamilton is accepting applications for a Director of Public Works.  The Department consists of the following Divisions:  Roads; Trash & Recycling; Fleet Management; Parks & Field Maintenance; and Facilities Management.  This is a leadership and management position, requiring supervisory experience in all the above areas.  Successful applicants should have five (5) years’ municipal or county government experience with planning, organizing, budgeting, purchasing, interacting with public sector labor unions and being part of the Administration’s management team, as well as experience managing personnel and administering a $2 million budget.  Customer service skills and sensitivity are a must.  Four-year degree in civil engineering, public administration, business administration or related field preferred.  Must possess CPWM certification.  Experience in civil engineering design for municipal projects may be substituted for Public Works experience.   Strong leadership skills, communication skills (oral and written) and concern for customer satisfaction are invaluable.  Salary commensurate with education and experience. 16 – Sept. 4.  Hours of operation:  Thurs. – Tues 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.  Manager must have current CPR, Community First Aid, Lifeguard & Waterfront Safety Cert. with 5 yrs. open water exp. preferred.  Lifeguard positions require current CPR, Community First Aid, Lifeguard & Waterfront Safety Cert. with 3 yrs. open water exp. preferred.  Badge Checkers must have current CPR Cert.  Salary commensurate with experience and Twp. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY - PD Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer - Friday, October 14, 2016

The Township of Hamilton Police Department is accepting applications for Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEOII). The position is 20 hours per week.
The applicant must be a citizen of the United States, a resident of New Jersey; able to read, write, and speak the English language; be sound in body and health; be of good moral character and have not been convicted of any criminal offense involving moral turpitude; possess a high school diploma/GED and a valid New Jersey drivers license. Applicants will be subjected to drug screening, psychological testing, and oral interview(s). Class II SLEO certification required.
